29.01.2007 The secretariat of GPC for Education devoted its first ordinary meeting for the current year, held Sunday morning in Tripoli to follow up the executive measures to address shortages in teachers in the light of the resolution of BPCs to ban contracting non- Libyans at all phases of education, and appointing the qualified national expertise to the educational institutes at remote areas. The Secretariat reviewed during this meeting, attended by Secretary of GPC for manpower, training, and employment, steps taken by its members, Secretaries of People's Committees for Education in Shabias to cover the shortages, according to the statistics adopted in its previous meeting, and which based on the field visits by educational inspectors at the beginning of the school year. Accordingly, the shortage is fulfilled at most of the educational establishments through, the former permission to enable graduates and the qualified teachers, and shifting spare males teachers to distant regions, and executing the resolution of GPC to double the salary of those transferred taking measures against those refusing to implement the transfer decisions. The Secretariat of the committee entrusted the secretaries of People's Committees for Education in the shaby to submit the lists of teachers employed taking into account the numbers and specializations pertaining to the permission for the schools that proved to suffer shortages in teachers. / Jana /
