Libya and Nicaragua agreed to develop and promote their relations and to establish a joint committee by the end of the first half of the current year at the latest .

This agreement was reached during the meeting held in the capital Managua Wednesday that included from the Libyan side, the Secretary of GPC for Culture and Information, the Secretary of People's Committee of the National Oil Corporation , Secretary of the Americas Affairs at the GPC for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation and from the Nicaraguan side, the Minister of Oil, Minister of Culture and the Deputy Foreign Minister, the appointed ministers in the new Nicaraguan government which is to assume its work following today's inauguration of, Freedom Fighter, Danial Ortiga as President of Nicaragua.

During this meeting , agreement has been reached to commission the joint Committee to study and discuss all subjects concerning bilateral cooperation and the means to activate this cooperation specially in political, economic, commercial , cultural and technical fields.

Members of the Nicaraguan side at this meeting, expressed their pride of the Leader of the Revolution and they saluted him for sending a high level delegation led by Maj. Gen. Mustafa Mohamed Al-kharoubi to attend the inauguration of freedom fighter, Danial Ortiga president of Nicaragua.

On the other hand, they praised the support and aid provided by Great Jamahiriya, renewing their keen interest to develop relations between both countries.
