Parliament and National Assembly Speakers in the AU member States began their meeting this evening in Tripoli.

The opening session was attended by Secretary of General People's Congress, Parliament Speaker of Pan-Africa, and Heads of African Political Missions accredited to Great Jamahiriya.

The meeting, held under the theme" Promoting African Union and Upgrading the Role of its Institutions towards the Establishment of the United States of Africa", addresses several topics among them approving the modifications made on the Articles of Association of the AU.

Other subjects to be under discussion include , the protection of economies of African countries from the consequences of the rising of oil prices and the lack of investment.
