The process of oil exploration, production, refining and conversion to petrochemicals constitute an ''Advanced industry'' which utilizes sophisticated technology. This industry is always developing, and requires supporting scientific research in order to maintain quality and high standards. Laboratory Technician NOC gives research and development projects relating to the oil industry all the importance that it deserves. In 1975, the Central Oil laboratory was established. In 1977, this laboratory was changed to the petroleum Research Centre, supervised directly by NOC, but technically and administratively independent. This centre has witnessed during the past years extraordinary developments. It has been equipped with modern laboratories and equipment, and has been staffed with competent personnel in the various branches of the oil industry. The centre performs at present, a number of research projects and scientific studies for the benefit of oil companies working in Libya . these research activities are closely related to the needs of these companies arising from their daily operations, in the oil fields, re-fineries and gas plants . Moreover, lab analyses, both basic and advanced, are provided to NOC and to other bodies which need such specialized services. |
