On 18th August 2008, a Co-operation Agreement was signed   between NOC and Petro-Canada Libya, which will be effective for five years. The Agreement is aimed at supporting training and education, development & transfer of technology, upgrading oil sector related training centres and developing human resources within the oil sector.  The Agreement also covers involvement in environmental studies and the development of areas adjacent to where Al-Harouge Co.
