 NOC secretary informed all sector's companies that priority in drilling works to be given to the national company for drilling and maintenance of oil wells as it is considered as owned by NOC, or Arab company for drilling and maintenance of oil wells as it is considered a joint Arab company.

NOC secretary stressed in his letter dated 17.03.2008 that oil sector companies should not grant drilling works to foreign companies before offering works to one of the above two companies or both of them.
