Blunter, 08.08.2008 (JANA) The African Development Bank has agreed to grant Malawi a financial assistance totaling $45.5 millions to implement the second stage of the National Program to promote and develop its water sector.
The bank's statement published today in Blunter said the assistance consists of a loan of $24 million, a grant of $17 million from the African Development Fund and an other of 5.52 million euros from the Credit Fund for rural water supply and sewage system.
Malawi's Water Development Program aims to improve water supply to 500 thousand people countrywide and to rehabilitate water system in the Blunter and the capital Lilongwe. [JANA]
