Responding to the demand of the day and the quest of the Libyan public for the need of having a quality management system that would measure the quality of services rendered or products offered, Mr. Omran Zbeida, through his Link Enterprises Business Solutions has introduced an awareness project that would expose people to the concept of ISO.

The first step towards achieving this ambition was the organizing an awareness conference that was held last week at the Grand Hotel in Tripoli. The conference was attended by various invited guests majority of them being decision makers from different industries. The presentation was given by Mr. Zbeida (PMP) the Chief Executive Officer of the Links Enterprises Business Solutions L.L.C.

While speaking at the conference, Mr. Zbeida said to the large gathering, "We want people to know that there is a better way of doing things, and that is by emphasizing on quality and by being aware of the international standards that can be certified by the ISO and the continuation of the process."

The awareness project is so far targeting all sectors because according to Mr. Zbeida, everybody is should be aware of the meaningful and effective project management process and how to maintain and run projects efficiently and how to do things with higher international recognized standards.

"We don't just focus on the local companies, we want also to make sure and send a message to the international companies doing business here in Libya that, they better be certified because the clients they are serving in Libya know what ISO is, and they expect an organization to have a higher level of quality", added Mr. Zbeida.

"What we want to do is give people the ability and the tools to improve themselves. Some of these people already have certain procedures and process in place, but as a consultation company we want to sit down in an organized process to see if there is any gap that hinders them from being an ISO certified", said Mr. Zbeid and added that, this is the easiest group to work with.

The other group that Mr. Zbeida would like to target is the one which has no absolute idea about ISO and they want to organize themselves and their resources to know the right procedures that would make it possible for them to be ISO certified.

The third group is the one with certain clients who may be in education, training programs.

"We want to make sure that they are our partners so that their clients can benefit from the Quality Management Systems Consultancy and Training Services", concluded Mr. Zbeida.

ISO being an International Standard Organisation is an internationally recognized organization which sets certain standards for businesses to attain and to maintain in order for the clients to have quality products that meet international standards. The products to be certified by ISO do not necessarily have to be tangible, but they can also involve training, education, journalism and so on.

For a company for example, if it is an ISO certified, then it tells the world that the work ethics and the standard of work meets internationally recognized standards.

Libya is currently going through tremendous growth in all sectors.

Therefore, there is a widespread concern among the stakeholders of different sectors that, if a benchmark is not set up in time to ensure that a certain level of quality is being offered, then the public is at risk of either getting poor services or products which are completely below the internationally recognized standards.

To facilitate this ambitious program, Links Enterprise Business Solutions LLC had entered into joint ventures with various international companies; namely, Excellence Management of Dubai and an American Company called MPMM. Links is authorized to represent these companies and sell their products and services in Libya.
