An understanding memorandum between the Libyan Oil Holding Company and government of Burundi was signed Tuesday at the Libya-Africa Portfolio for Investment in Tripoli, to establish the economic feasibility study for implementing the 250 km (Rwanda - Burundi) oil products pipeline project, this is in the framework of the interest of the Leader of the revolution to help relieve the crisis that a number of African countries are going through due to the soaring fuel prices.
The signing ceremony was attended by President Pierre Nkurunziza, of the Republic of Burundi, and the Director General of the Libya-Africa Portfolio for Investment.
Notable, the Libyan Oil Holding Company won an international tender for implementing the 580 km (Kampala - Kigali) oil products pipeline project, which its agreement was signed in the presence of Leader of the Revolution, President Yoweri Museveni, of the Republic of Uganda, President Mwai Kibaki, of the Republic of Kenya, President Pierre Nkurunziza, of the Republic of Burundi, and President Paul Kagame, of the Republic of Rwanda, on 19 March in the Ugandan capital Kampala.
The pipeline will supply oil products to Burundi, Rwanda, DR Congo and Tanzania.
