Libya has signed on Tuesday a 1.6 billion-dollar contract with several Libyan and foreign housing construction companies to execute housing and integrated services projects in various regions around the country.
The agreements were initialled by the Secretary of the management committee of the Libyan Authority for the execution of housing and services projects, Abouzid Dourda, and representatives of the various companies.
The housing projects are scheduled for Morzouk, Misurata, Khomus, Tripoli, Jabal Al-Gharbi, Nalout, Jffara and Zawia.
A further three contacts were singed by the Libyan Authority with foreign companies for the building of 9,000 houses in the municipalities of Misratha, Jffara and Mergueb in the east and south of Tripoli.
Other construction contracts around the same amount would be signed during the first quarter of this month, Dourda said.
