Job Description:
GreyStar Corporation, a premier Oil & Gas upstream services firm, is seeking a seasoned, senior level professional with a solid background in American business practices, and experience in managing the production side of the Oil industry, to fill the position of Project Manager on an important, multi-year offshore oil project in Libya. Some experience in managing production on older platforms is required.
The Project Manager is a Chief of Party position, reporting to the Chairman of International Projects, and is responsible for overall management of the project, in addition to potential business development. As such, the ideal candidate will be a professional who can command respect based on his knowledge, presentation, and cultural sensitivity, not just his previous technical experience. The Project Manager will be responsible for the project staff and deliverables; manage the project within the approved budget; handle administrative issues and reporting responsibilities; and must be capable of providing technical and engineering advice to the project and the client.
This position is as a formal employee of GreyStar, for the duration of the project, after which an effort will be made to integrate the employee onto ongoing or new projects. The salary is dependent on experience. This is a full-time relocation to Tripoli, Libya, for the duration of employment, and includes onshore housing, family status, home leave, and an excellent benefits package. No pets will be relocated.
Absolute Requirements:
• Hands-on experience in offshore oil production operations.
• Specific understanding and knowledge of how topside oil production facilities work (i.e. oil treatment, dewater/water treatment, 3 phase separation, electrostatic treaters, gas lift, oil storage, BS&W, pipeline pumps, fuel gas issues, etc)
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum of 15 years supervisory experience is required.
• Knowledge of subsea operations.
• Start-up, commissioning new facilities.
• Refurbishment of older offshore production facilities.
• Ability to write and coordinate the production of procedures and manuals.
• Must be a US Citizen or National (Canadian or British citizens may be considered pending Client approval).
• Must be computer literate and able to communicate well with engineers and designers.
Preference given to those with all the above qualifications plus the following:
• Experience with onsite FSO’s
• Direct experience with the development and implementation of a CMMS program
• Proven Ability to handle Business Development within the country/region
• Experience leading multi-cutural teams
