Quick facts: This site is about 14km north of Benghazi. The plant operated on diesel oil until 2003 when a gas pipeline connection was finished. Since then operated mainly on natural gas. HRSGs along with two 150-MW steam turbines are being added under a Jul 1999, €300mn contract to Daewoo Corp. In Aug 1999, Daewoo obtained guarantees from the Export-Import Bank of Korea and a $48.2mn loan from the Islamic Development Bank for the project.
